Does volume HUD work offline?
Shipping volume HUD behavior is a local Mac utility. Volume overlays replace the stock macOS HUD when enabled. Network is not required for the core notch host.

What needs a network
Sparkle updates and optional music backends may need a network. volume HUD itself is described as on-device where the feature allows.
AI is separate
NotNotch AI is in development and is not required to use volume HUD.
