Battery impact of Studio Display
Studio Display is a small SwiftUI surface. An external display can host the same companion instead of leaving the notch on the laptop only. Disable it if you want the lightest possible notch.

What costs energy
Live polling and media artwork cost more than a static chip. Studio Display should sleep when unused.
How to lighten it
Turn off unused live activities in Settings so Studio Display is not in the stack all day.
