Common questions about Now Playing: it is a native Mac notch surface, optional in Settings, and not a Siri replacement. Playback and artwork sit in the closed notch so you do not hunt for a player window.

Is Now Playing required?
No. Enable only the surfaces you want. NotNotch AI is also optional and still in development.
Which Macs?
Now Playing works with a hardware notch or a floating top-edge companion on compatible displays.
