Set up Notifications after installing NotNotch
After install, Notifications is opt-in through Settings so existing users are not surprised. Selected banners can take the front of the notch stack, then hand back to music.

First launch
Finish onboarding, then open Settings and enable Notifications if you want it.
Permissions
macOS may ask for calendar, notifications, or files depending on Notifications. Decline any you do not need.
