The menu bar is always there; GPL-3.0 license in NotNotch is glanceable and then gone. NotNotch is a Gogocash fork of Boring Notch and stays GPL-3.0.

When the notch is better
Use GPL-3.0 license in the notch when you want a short live view without another icon in the menu bar.
When the menu bar stays
NotNotch does not hide Control Center or system extras. GPL-3.0 license complements them.
