If Dark Mode is missing, check Settings, display targeting, and macOS permissions first. The companion follows system light and dark appearance.

Confirm Dark Mode is enabled and that the notch is not hidden on that display.
It appears on the wrong screen
Use the display-follow setting so Dark Mode tracks the screen you are looking at.
