Set up brightness HUD after installing NotNotch
After install, brightness HUD is opt-in through Settings so existing users are not surprised. Brightness changes can appear as a notch companion instead of the default overlay.

First launch
Finish onboarding, then open Settings and enable brightness HUD if you want it.
Permissions
macOS may ask for calendar, notifications, or files depending on brightness HUD. Decline any you do not need.
